Seton Parish SPY Mass 2011/2012

In the case of students who attended Mass with their family on
Saturday evening or Sunday morning and will not be attending
SPY Mass it is required that early session students have a note
to be dismissed early, children should be picked up no later
than 6:30 pm and second session students should not arrive
before 7:50. Unfortunately nearly one quarter to half of our
students in our religious education program is not attending
Mass regularly, if at all. Please reflect on your decision to have
your child baptized and the commitment made at your child's
baptism: In the Rite of the Sacrament of Baptism, parents
receive the call from God to evangelize their child and raise
them in the practice of the faith which means not only to
educated them but most especially participate in the liturgy on a
weekly basis.
As parents we need to not only model our faith to our children
we need to live our faith. The core of our Catholic faith is
found in the Eucharist. A Catholic identity begins at home
through the lives and example of families. The Mass is the best
expression of what it means to be Catholic. By placing your
priority on attending Mass and sharing your faith with your
child you are making a direct impact on the faith formation of
your child. We cannot teach children in the classroom what it
means to be Catholic if we are not practicing the Catholic faith
at home.
